Creating a Healthier Seneca County One Home at a Time

The Seneca County Healthy Neighborhoods Program (HNP) offered by the Seneca County Health Department (SCHD) is a New York State grant funded program that provides eligible Seneca County residents with home assessments to identify any environmental hazards or safety concerns.

Based on the in-home assessment, HNP staff will implement strategies and provide free materials to address environmental hazards and concerns in the home.

The Healthy Neighborhoods Program aims to reduce home health hazards such as:

  • Fire Safety & Hazards
  • Carbon Monoxide
  • Slip & Fall Concerns
  • Asthma Triggers
  • Mold/Mildew
  • Pests
  • Lead poisoning
  • Smoking/Hazards from secondhand smoke
  • Other health issues and safety concerns

HNP targets specific regions of Seneca County based on qualifying zip codes.

Follow Up Services
HNP staff will follow up with program participants to ensure that the strategies used are effective at improving safety in the home.

  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Cleaning and Disinfecting Supplies

  • Gun locks
